Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes has been constituted on 16.2.2004 under'The Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes Act, 2004'. The amendment was made in the Principal Act'. Procedure Adopted Regarding Complaint/ Representation
On the receipt of complaint/representation, the report is sought from concerned department. In case of atrocity, the report is sought from Deputy Commissioner/SSP. After the receipt of report, the same is provided to the complainant/ representationist to file the replication. Thereafter, the matter is considered and if it is considered necessary, afresh report is sought from the concerned. On the receipt of afresh report, the decision is taken by Commission. In case, where the department is reluctant to supply the report, the officer concerned is asked to appear before the Commission.
